Mapping for SAP Tax Conditions to External Tax Categories.

In this configuration step, you can define mapping for SAP tax conditions to tax categories in external supplier solutions, like SAP Ariba Network. The tax conditions defined in SAP S/4HANA are not recognized by the external supplier system, with this configuration step a mapping can be formed between SAP tax conditions and tax categories defined in the external solutions. The data of this configuration step is carried in the payload of SOAP APIs relevant for purchase orders. In this way the external solutions can identify the SAP tax conditions.

The external tax categories must be created in the configuration step Define External Tax Categories.

Create a new entry and enter the following details:

• Tax Condition Type:Tax condition type as defined in the SAP S/4HANA system. Choose the tab Tax Based on Tax Code to search for tax codes for countries where jurisdiction is not applicable. Choose the tab Tax Based on Tax Code and Jurisdiction to search for tax codes for countries where jurisdiction is applicable. Choose the tab Tax Condition Based on Time Dependent Tax Codeto search for tax codes that are time dependent.

• Tax Condition Description:Description of the tax condition as maintained in the SAP S/4HANA system.

• External Tax Category:External tax category as defined in the configuration step Define External Tax Categories.

• External Tax Description:External tax category description as defined in the configuration step Define External Tax Categories.

You can also map tax categories for specific suppliers and countries. For example, you can create the following type of mappings:

• Mapping that is not supplier or country specific

• Mapping that is supplier specific

• Mapping that is country specific

Save the table to save the entry.
