Allows you to map material groups to specific purchasing groups.

You can map material groups to purchasing groups. In certain scenarios, you may not want to allow the procurement of items of a material group to be carried out by all the available purchasing groups. In such cases, you can define that the procurement of items of this material group is to be carried out by members of specific purchasing groups only. The purchasing group entered in a purchase requisition is then validated against the various purchasing groups mapped to the material group in the configuration.

You can do the following:

  • Maintain the mapping of material groups to purchasing group manually. For a specific plant, a single or a range of Material Groups can be mapped to the Purchasing Group. Note that, once you have completed an entry, you cannot delete it. However, you can still set the entry to Inactivestatus.
  • Upload a CSV file containing the master data. Once you have uploaded the CSV file, the system validates if the file contains correct data. If the data is correct, new entries will be created and also the existing entries of the CSV file will be updated. In case of any inconsistencies in the CSV file, the file is not uploaded to the system.
  • Download the CSV file. You can download the configuration settings to your system as a CSV file. You can also modify the entries in your downloaded file and upload the same file.

As a prerequisite, the administrator must have set up the master data for material groups and purchasing groups.
