This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the IS-AD-MPD component.

You can use this BAdI to collect all the information that you need to create maintenance plans, for example, from other documents, classes and characteristics of documents, database tables.

You call this BAdI in the document management system (DMS) (CV01N).

You must make the following Customizing settings:

  • To view the MPD Data Collectortab in the DMS from where you call the BAdI, you must maintain the DMS Customizing for the document type that you wish to use for MPD under Cross-Application Components → Document Management → Control Data → Define Document Types.
  • When you create a new BAdI implementation you must create the short text in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service → Maintenance and Service Processing → Maintenance Program Definition → Define Short Texts for MPD Data Collector Variants.
  • There is an active implementation.
  • The BAdI is designed for multiple use.
  • The BAdI is filter-dependent.

The default implementation is designed to work together with the Customizing transaction Define MPD Settings for Document Types.This can be found under Plant Maintenance and Customer Service → Maintenance and Service Processing → Maintenance Program Definition. It defines the sources of the effectivity information that is stored in the classes and characteristics of the document, functional location, and equipment.

Note: You must create different implementations if you want to use the methods COPY_DATA and POST_OBJLINK_COPY separately. For POST_OBJLINK_COPY there is a fixed filter value (POST_OBJLINK_COPY) and you should not give it a short description in Customizing.
