In this Customizing activity, you assign actions to status and action schemas.

In addition, you define the sequence that the action icons appear on the UI when a user selects them. This does not affect the order that users have to perform the actions. The available actions are based on the current status of the object type.

To release a status and action schema, it must contain actions that validly link all of the available statuses defined for that status and action schema at least once. For example, if the status and action schema contains the statuses Initial, In Process, and Completed, it must also contain at least two actions: one that changes the status from Initialto In Processand one that changes the status from In Processto Completed.

To assign actions to a status and action schema, both the action and the schema must be assigned to the same object type.

Each action can only be assigned to the same status and action schema once. Therefore, if you want the same action to occur for two start statuses, for example, if you want a restart action that moves from both a break and a hold status, you have to create two restart actions with unique names.

You release status and action schemas in the status and action schema Customizing, in the Define Status and Action Schemasactivity.
