In this Customizing activity, you define the additional attributes for the material type.

By defining the effectivity type, you define the conditions under which object changes are valid. The complex assembly type indicates whether a material is a major assembly, an installation kit, end item, or a manufactured part.

You have configured the effectivity type in the Configure Parameters for Product Unitization.

To define an additional attribute, do the following:

1. Choose New Entries.
2. Select a material type using value help.
3. Assign the Effectivity type, for example SERNR(serial number).
4. Select the complex assembly type.
5. Save your entry.
