MPN_CONV_EXIT - Specify Settings for Inventory-Managed MPN

In this Customizing activity, you can activate the inventory-managed MPN functionality. To do so, select the Activate Inventory-Managed MPN checkbox.

Additionally, you can make the following settings:

• Specify the delimiter for concatenation

If you enable concatenation for a material type, the system uses this delimiter to generate the material number. The generated material number consists of the manufacturer part number and the external manufacturer, separated by this delimiter.

Note

To enable concatenation for a material type, select a suitable value from the Concatenated Material No. dropdown list in the Define Attributes for Material Type activity.

• Specify whether to display the external manufacturer in its own column while displaying materials in lists

Note that these settings do not affect each other and can be separately activated and deactivated.

Go to the product assistance under SAP S/4HANA -> Enterprise Business Applications -> R&D / Engineering -> Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) -> Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) -> Inventory Management -> Parts Interchangeability -> Fully Interchangeable Parts -> Inventory-Managed Manufacturer Part.
