MSS_WDA_DATA_TR_INDI - Set Data Tracking for Individual Self-Services

In this Customizing activity you individually set for each self-service application that you want to use for the Manager roles if and how the system tracks the data.

You have performed the Activate Data Tracking for All Self-Services Customizing activity.

For Manager Self-Service (WDA), data tracking is activated for the profile applications that are in the standard delivery:

• Employee Profile (HRMSS_EMP_OVERVIEW_PROFILE)

• Organizational Profile (HRMSS_ORGANIZATIONAL_PROFILE)

• Position Profile (HRMSS_POSITION_PROFILE)

To activate data tracking for your custom-built applications, proceed as follows:

1. Enter a unique technical name and description for each self-service application for which you want to track data.
2. State the application name for each application.
3. If required, set a tracking ID.

You only need to enter a tracking ID for self-service applications that have an identical application name. If this is the case, you must enter a tracking ID for each application. The system requires the ID to track the data of such self-service applications individually.

The tracking ID needs to be passed through the application parameters. You have to define it in the iView parameters for the Portal role, for the PFCG role or for the launchpad, depending on the usage and the location from where the application should be launched.

You can use any combination of numbers and letters as the tracking ID.

You must store the tracking ID that you enter here as a URL Web Dynpro ABAP application parameter for the self-service application using the convention TRACKING_ID=.

1. Set a default initiator role.

Note

If the same Self-Service is used in different roles, you can set an initiator role that differs from the default initiator role for individual roles. To do this, you must store the different initiator role as a URL Web Dynpro ABAP application parameter for the self-service application using the convention INITIATOR_ROLE=.

1. Set the Activate Tracking indicator.

Caution

Note that if the application does not reuse the HRMSS_PROFILE_SHARED_DATA Web Dynpro component, it must explicitly call the SET_BTRACKING method of the CL_HRMSS_CENTRAL_SERVICES class.
