SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you create a customer-specific composite role for your managers which they can use to perform their tasks in SAP NetWeaver Business Client.

The role maintenance (transaction PFCG) is the central repository for all SAP system roles. It is used to set up the menu structure for the role Manager Self-Service which can be displayed in the SAP NetWeaver Business Client.

The PFCG role enables you to create overview and area pages, thereby providing your managers with easy access to the Web applications (services) they need. These pages group and describe the different services and contain hyperlinks with which they can be started.

The menu delivered in the PFCG role is accessed through either the NWBC for HTML or NWBC Stand Alone Client.

The same transaction PFCG is also used to assign the MSS role to users.

As a standard shipment for the MSS menu, the PFCG composite role SAP_MANAGER_MSS_NWBC_2 is delivered. The standard menu is rendered according to the menu structure defined in this role.

All authorizations required for managers to run the applications are part of the authorization profiles included in the single roles of this composite role.

  1. Create your customer-specifc role based on the composite role SAP_MANAGER_MSS_NWBC_2.
  2. Assign the new composite role to the required users.
