MSS_WDA_OBN - Adjust Object-Based Navigation for Manager Self-Service

In this Customizing activity, you can use Launchpad Customizing (transaction LPD_CUST) to adjust the object-based navigation (OBN) of the manager role for SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) and for SAP NetWeaver Portal.

Object-based navigation is implemented for indirect navigation. This navigation technology is controlled using business objects from the following repositories:

• Business Object Repository (BOR) in the case of SAP NWBC

• Business Package for Common Parts in the case of SAP Portal

You only need to make settings here if you want to change the indirect navigation for a role.

Example

In a standard application of the role, you want to add a pushbutton and use this pushbutton to call a customer-specific application via OBN.

If you want to use the roles as provided in the standard SAP system, you do not need to make any settings here.

In the required Web Dynpro application, you have implemented the call (for example, the calling pushbutton) and defined an application alias. The system uses this alias to read the Launchpad Customizing and thus determine the information that it requires for OBN.

If you want to use a customer business object, you must have created the business object and a method in the BOR repository for NWBC or a business object and an operation in the SAP Portal repository Business Package for Common Parts.
