In this step you assign individually defined travel services to the keys for sales office determination specified previously. This enables you to define special services such as the ones listed below, in addition to the standard services (flight, hotel, rental car, and train), for the purposes of sales office determination:

  • Ferry
  • Helicopter
  • Airport shuttle

However, there is no standard connection to a reservation system for other travel services that would allow for availability queries and bookings.

For example, if you define a ferry service as an other travel service, users are able to specify the ferry service in the travel plan. If you want to transmit such a request for reservation to your travel agency, you can implement the Business Add-In (BAdI) FITP_TRAVEL_PLANNING, for example, to be able to create remark elements in the booking record (PNR) for other travel services. For more information, refer to the BAdI documentation. If you want the service to be included in the PNR, select the option PNR Integration when you define the service.

These other travel services can be entered only in the Web Dynpro user interface. In SAP GUI, the planning manager (TP01) and the travel manager (TRIP) only display existing requests for other travel services.

Field control is possible for the step Request Other Travel Services in the travel plan of the Web Dynpro user interface. A set of predefined input and output fields is available for other travel services, from which you can select the fields and their input and display attributes of those fields for each other travel service. For example, for locations you can use either a field that references IATA codes or a custom text field.

You need to assign other travel services to the travel service category Other. Therefore, after defining an other travel service, create a corresponding entry in Define Travel Service Categories with the following parameters:

  • Grouping =
  • Enterprise-specific category =
  • Name =
  • Category = Other (predefined)
  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Select one of the predefined keys for sales office determination.
  3. Specify a code for the travel service. Do not specify a code that is already being used for an enterprise-specific travel service category (such as "H" for hotel).
  4. Enter a name for the service.
  5. If you want the service to be included in the PNR, select PNR Integration.
  6. Specify the field control for the service (selection of the fields used for the service and their input and display attributes).

If you frequently need ferry connections in Travel Planning, define a service called Ferry:

  • Grouping:,,' '
  • Code for other travel service:,,1
  • Other travel service name:,,Ferry
  • PNR Integration:,,X
