In this step you assign class rules the corresponding flight cabin classes and flight booking classes depending on flight durations.

The selection of a flight cabin rule makes it possible to either set an exact flight class, or allow alternative classes, if the flight class set as the first choice in the class rule should not be available. If, for example, Economy -> Business -> First is specified in the flight cabin rule, business class is only allowed if no economy class flight is available; Booking first class flights is only allowed if no business class flights are available.

You have the option to specify which booking classes are to be allowed in a flight class rule. You can enter one or more booking classes; the order in which they are entered controls the priority for flight selection. The Booking classes field is given priority by the system, in other words, if there is an entry here, the system checks first, without considering the entries in the Flight cabin rule, to see if flights are available in the allowed booking classes. If not, the system reports available flights on the basis of the entries in the Flight cabin rule field.

The prescribed booking classes can refer to round-trip flights or one-way flights (to destination only). The relevant selection is made in the Flight schema field. The system only processes entries in this field if a booking class has been specified.

Additionally, the system only reports the Booking classes field if the flight schema chosen in the traveler's flight request ('one-way, flight to destination only', 'round-trip', 'several connections') corresponds with the flight schema in the class rule. Flights consisting of more than one segment are treated by the system as a series of one-way flights.

Note:
You can find exact information about the flight cabin rule, Booking class and Flight schema fields in the corresponding F1 Help documentation for the fields.

All flights that last longer than four hours are to be assigned to flight class "B" (Business). If no business class flight is available, a first class flight should be allowed. All booking classes in these flight classes are allowed. The following settings must be made:

  • Flight class rule:
    B (Business)
  • Min. flight duration in h:
    04:00
  • Flight cabin rule:
    Business/First
  • Booking class:
    [No entry]
  • Flight schema:
In the standard system the value 'one-way, flight to destination only' is set.

You must already have defined a class rule for flights.

  1. Choose New entries.
  2. Choose the defined flight class rule.
  3. Specify the minimum flight duration for which the flight class rule is to apply.
  4. Choose the relevant flight cabin rule.
  5. Enter the allowed booking classes in the order of their priority (optional).
  6. Choose the flight trip schema that is to apply for the specified booking classes.
In the standard system the value 'one-way, flight to destination only' is set. The system only considers entries in this field if a booking class has been specified.
  7. Save your entries

In section assign evaluation criteria, you can now assign a specific priority to a flight-specific provision (e.g. "Highest priority", "Not allowed").
