In this step, you assign the travel profiles that you have defined to individual catalog items in the enterpri-specific hotel catalog. The assignment is time-dependent and can be additionally differentated per trip activity. For each hotel from the catalog that is assigned to a travel profile, a class rule and a priority must also be assigned, which are then applied during queries and display of the availability list.

In an availability query, the system searches first of all for appropriate accommodations in the hotel catalog on the basis of the specified IATA location, travel profile, trip activity and validity period. Then, following possibilities are presented to the user as a result of the search:

  • The system finds corresponding entries in the hotel catalog:
Only these entries are displayed to the user. Not until an entry is selected, can you see whether rooms are available for the relevant time period. If all of the rooms of the provider in the hotel catalog are occupied, you should change to the global view and start a new query.

  • The system does not find corresponding entries in the hotel catalog:
The user can switch to the global view and start a query directly in the connected reservation system.

  1. Choose a defined travel profile.
  2. Choose New entries.
  3. Specify an assignment on the basis of the following entries:
    1. Trip activity type
    2. Trip destination (location)
    3. A hotel catalog item defined in the following section: Define enterprise-specific hotel catalog
    4. Validity period
    5. A class rule defined in the following section:
      Define hotel class rules
    6. Priority
