In this Customizing activity, for each country/region key you can define which APIS (Advanced Passenger Information System) data items can be entered by users in travel planning. This lets you transmit APIS data (by means of Special Service Requests (SSR)) to airlines for flights booked through a Global Distribution System (GDS):

  • Primary Travel Document Information (SSR DOCS)
  • Secondary Travel Document Information for Visas (SSR DOCO)
  • Passenger Address Information (SSR DOCA)

You define the following for each country or region:

  • If you select the APIS Data is Mandatory indicator for a given country, and the travel planning user specifies that he or she intends to travel to that country or region, then the user is required to enter the necessary APIS data. You determine which data is necessary in the settings for each individual field.
  • You can make the following settings for each individual field:
  • The user must enter a value.

  • The user can enter a value.

  • The user cannot enter a value. You can also determine whether the field is displayed or hidden.

Constraints:

  • APIS functionality is available to users only on the Web Dynpro ABAP user interface of travel planning.
  • You can use APIS functionality only when connected to a GDS.

You need to activate the Business Add-In (BAdI)Adjust Creation of APIS Elements to enable the system to transmit the APIS data entered in travel plans as SSR elements to the Passenger Name Record (PNR). One way to do this is to use the inactive implementation of the BAdI delivered in the standard system. Or you can use the BAdI as a template for your own implementation.
