OFTR_ES_002_01 - Define Travel Mediums and Estimated Costs to Be Approved

In this step, you can configure the following fields in travel requests in the Web Dynpro ABAP user interface:

• Means of transportation to be approved, such as private car or company car

The system shows the means of transportation to be approved under the general data for the travel request. Users can choose a potential means of transportation and add a comment.

• Types of accommodations to be approved, such as hotel or private accommodations

The system shows the types of accommodations to be approved under the general data for the travel request. Users can choose potential types of accommodations and add a comment.

• Estimated costs for means of transportation and types of accommodations to be approved

The system displays the travel mediums for the estimated costs in a separate step in the travel request. Users can enter the estimated costs for the means of transportation and types of accommodations that are available.

To configure means of transportation and types of accommodations to be approved as well as estimated costs, you define travel mediums. You assign each travel medium a means of transportation or a type of accommodations and specify if the user can enter a cost estimate, for example.

The definition of travel mediums is used as an aid for the the approval procedure for travel requests. The itemization of travel mediums provides more information to the approving manager, who can then approve or reject the travel request.

You use the Web Dynpro ABAP user interface.
