In this activity, you make the necessary settings for calculating the anticipated age of retirement in the programs Reserves for Severance Pay Entitlements or Reserves for Anniversary Bonus Payments.

The pension reform in 2003 introduced a date-of-birth-related period rule for the earliest retirement age. This change also affects the anticipated age of retirement.

You first group the employees by gender and, if necessary, by specific organizational criteria to calculate the anticipated age of retirement.

Since legal changes or changes within the company can shift the anticipated age of retirement compared to earlier expected values, you define the validity of the expected values and the age grouping.

In the standard SAP system, the following subapplications are proposed for modifying the retirement age calculation:

  • ABF,,Reserves for Severance Pay Entitlements
  • JUB,,Reserves for Anniversary Bonus Payments

Perform the following activities in the order specified.

  • Activity Define Grouping for Age of Retirement Determination
In feature ARPAG (Retirement Age Grouping for Reserve Calculations (A)), you group employees based on their gender and, if necessary, based on certain organizational units for whom the same age of retirement applies. Example entries are provided in client 000.
  • Activity Specify Age of Retirement
In this activity, you specify the validity periods as well as the age of retirement. Proceed as follows:
  1. Call the activity Specify Age of Retirement.
  2. Select the subapplication that you want to process.
  3. Double-click the Define Validity Periods entry in the tree structure.
  4. Specify the groups previously defined in feature ARPAG, the corresponding validity periods, and the required version numbers.
    For more information, see the field help for the activity.
  5. Select a validity period and double-click the Specify Age of Retirement entry within the tree structure.
    For each period rule, define the anticipated age of retirement for the date of birth.
    Example entries are provided in client 000.
  6. Save your entries.
