SAP E-Book

In this step, you maintain the personnel calculation rule used to determine the valuation bases for each employee. This rule calculates basic pay in accordance with its coding in processing class 01 and employee and work-schedule data.

The standard SAP system contains the following model entries for salaried employees:

  • Normal hourly rate /001
Overtime hours are paid by dividing the relevant basic pay by the number of average employee-related hours in the payroll period.
  • Overtime rate /002
Overtime hours are paid by dividing the relevant basic pay by a predefined constant. Since part-time employees can also be paid overtime, part-time pay is projected temporarily to the full-time rate and the overtime rate is calculated from this.
  • Absence compensation /005
This valuation basis is used for the basic remuneration of absences. Calculation of the rate of pay is based on the planned working time for the relevant payroll period.
  • Basic pay for special payments /006
Special payments (leave benefits, holiday bonus and so on), are made up of basic pay and averages data.
  1. Copy the standard personnel calculation rule A010 and rename it Z010.
  2. Define all the formulae needed in the personnel calculation rule Z010
  3. In personnel calculation schema AT00 change the call to the personnel calculation rule A010 to Z010.
  4. Document the new formulae.
  5. For each basic pay wage type, specify the valuation bases in which they are to be included.

If you calculate overtime at a flat rate in your enterprise, you must split the valuation basis /005 for each absence unit into taxable and tax-exempt shares according to § 68 (2) EStG.
