In this step, you define reduction formulas for wage types that are entered in the Basic Pay (0008) or Recurring Payments/Deductions (0014) infotypes.

Since wage types in the Basic Pay infotype are created for each partial period where changes in the Organizational Assignment or Basic Pay infotype are not made at the start of a given period, these wage types must be reduced by factors created on the basis of the partial periods.

Wage types in the Recurring Payments/Deductions infotype, on the other hand, are created just once per period. For this reason, only reduction factors that are created on the basis of the total period can be used for these wage types.

The standard SAP system contains the following formula for reducing basic pay wage types for partial periods:

  • Factor =
Planned working time (partial period) - unpaid absence (partial period)
divided by
Period working time according to the personal work schedule

The standard system contains two formulas for reducing wage types entered in the Recurring Payments/Deductions (0014) infotype.

  • Factor =
Planned working time (total period) - unpaid absence (total period)
divided by
Period working time according to the personal work schedule
  • Factor = 0, if no positively valuated time portion exists or
Factor = 1, if no reduction reasons exist
  1. Check which reduction formulas you need.
  2. Copy standard personnel calculation rule APPF to personnel calculation rule ZPPF.
  3. Change personnel calculation schema AAL0 so that it accesses ZPPF instead of APPF.

If you do not need to change the standard formulas, skip the above activities.
