OHABPERCAL06 - Define Absence Category Attributes

In this Customizing activity, you define settings for absence categories. The settings control, for example, if the absence category handles exceptions, or whether it accepts prolongations.

Prolongations apply to scenarios when a non-working day occurs between two absence periods; prolongation means that the non-working day is ignored and the two absence periods are logically merged.

In this activity, you define values for the Absence category attributes (V_T5BP8) maintenance view.

You define settings for each combination of employee category (ANSTA), special modifier, and absence category.

If the Allow Prolongation checkbox is not selected, absence periods are not logically merged.

Note: You can specify a function module to manage exceptions (situations not covered by existing Customizing settings). If no function module is specified, the system processes exceptions according to existing Customizing settings.

An illness (absence category Z), for a normal employee ( special modifier 1), would be customized with "Allow prolongation" on, and the function to take care of exceptions HR_BE_ABS_EXCEPTIONS_ILLNESS.
