In this Customizing activity, you set the default income category and contribution group for an employee. The system uses the income category and contribution group to determine the partial income tax that an employer pays on behalf of an employee.

To set the default income category and contribution group, you edit the Default Income Category and Contribution Group (ERTAX) feature in the system.

You have made the necessary settings in the Define Tax Percentage or Amount Paid by Employer Customizing activity.

In the standard system, the feature determines the default setting based on the personnel area and personnel subarea of an employee.

  1. Check if the default settings fit your company's requirements.
  2. Edit the feature if changes are required.
