In this activity you can configure the attributes required to calculate the discount on withholding tax at source in accordance with the company's rules.

The standard SAP system contains the constant information established by law for the discount calculation.

Using the Withholding Tax at Source (V_T7CO09) table view, assign the configuration to the following parameters:

  • Withholding projection: It configures the way in which it is required to project the basis for calculating the withholding at source for all payroll periods, except when the payroll is canceled on a monthly basis, since it is not necessary to carry out such a projection.
  • Inactive Days Projection: It configures the way in which it is required to project the basis for the calculation of withholding at source for all payroll periods when an employee does not work every day of the month. For example, when he or she submitted unpaid leaves, because he or she entered on a date different to the first day of the period or because he or she left on a date different from the last day of the period.
  • Leave Projection: It configures the way in which it is required to project the basis for the calculation of withholding at source for all payroll periods when an employee is on leave.
  • Benefit Share: It configures the way in which to take each tax period that is defined in infotype Withholding at source (CO)(0830), which corresponds to 30 days.
  • Food Voucher Limit: Configures the limits that can be taken by the system according to the value earned by the employee in order to be entitled to have the food voucher deducted from the withholding basis.
  • Food Voucher Share: Configures the limit according to the proportionality of the value of the food voucher for the calculation of the withholding basis at source.
  • Procedure 1 - % or Value: Configures one of the two existing options to calculate the withholding discount at source when the employee has procedure 1 assigned.
  • Six-Monthly Procedure 1 - % or Value: Configures the way in which the value can be found when the maximum limit of the withholding table is exceeded when the six-monthly process is run.
  • Voucher in the Six-Monthly Procedure: Configures the way in which the food voucher has to be applied for the six-monthly procedure.
  • Regular payroll exempt: Configures the way in which the exempt percentage of the taxable income (25%) has to be applied in the regular payroll.
  • Six-Monthly Procedure Exempt: Configures the way in which the exempt percentage of the taxable income in the half-yearly procedure has to be applied.
  • Inactive for the Six-Monthly Procedure: If you select this checkbox, the system automatically reduces the unpaid leaves that are longer than or equal to 30 days in a period (month) for the six-monthly withholding procedure.
This configuration is based on the legal definition that states that only seniority is reduced for a six-monthly procedure if an employee does not work any day of the month. If he or she works, at least, one day, no day of seniority is reduced.
  • Discount Periodicity: Configures the periodicity of the withholding at source discount.
  • Withholding at Source Table: As of January 1st, 2007 the new withholding at source table came into force, which is expressed in UVT (Tax Value Unit in Spanish).
  • Amount in Withholding at Source Wage Type: Configures in which the field Amount (ANZHL) of wage type Withholding at source has to be shown for personnel of Procedure 1 of withholding at source.
  • Compensation Basis: Cumulated - Salary: If you select this checkbox, the system will add wage types /155 (Non-wage labor payments) and /156 (Wage labor payments), and will compare the total amount to the exempt compensation limit. If it is not selected, the system will take the wage of infotype 0008 (Basic Pay) and will compare it to the limit.
If you create entries in Customizing activity Define income wage types to apply exempt compensation limit, the system will not take into account this checkbox.
