To calculate the reduced hours compensation, you need to assign attributes to the possible combinations of processing classes and absence valuation rules:

  • The RHC List field was required before January 1, 1998 to be printed on the reimbursement list. However, since the field is also evaluated in payroll, you need to continue to maintain it.
  • The indicator in the RHC ProcessInd field controls how the absence is to be processed in payroll:
Generally, the reduced hours are initially treated as an absence in payroll (table ABC).
The indicator S defines that the reduced hours from table ABC are canceled.
The value L defines that the reduced hours are swapped with the absence.
  1. Leave
  2. Illness within continued pay
  3. Illness outside continued pay
  4. Rehabilitation program (health cure)
  5. Unpaid absences

In the Absences section, you have assigned your absence types a processing class and an absence valuation rule.

The indicators are maintained for the valuation classes and processing classes provided.

Check or edit the absences for reduced hours.

If you generate wage types for absences, make sure that you use PeriodZ (Valuation per day) in the Customizing activity Valuate Absences by Constants/Averages.

For more information, see SAP Library for SAP ERP Central Component and choose Reduced Hours Compensation and Seasonal Reduced Hours Compensation.
