SAP E-Book

When the maternity pay supplement is calculated, the system requires a wage type that can be used to enter a net amount that differs from the automatic basis calculation. This net amount can be used when calculating the supplement.

  • The manual wage type can be entered using the Recurring Payments and Deductions infotype (0014) or the Additional Payments and Deductions infotype (0015). When you enter the wage type, you must enter an amount and also the number of calendar days for which this amount is applicable. When the maternity pay supplement is calculated, this amount is divided by the specified number of calendar days and is then included in the calculation of the supplement.

  • When the wage type is entered in the Additional Payments and Deductions infotype (0015) without an amount and number, automatic calculation of the supplement basis is triggered for the input month. It is only necessary to enter the wage type if future pay changes are not taken into account in the selected calculation model. If this is the case, the wage type is entered three months before the start of the maternity protection period. When this wage type is recognized during the payroll run, the system then projects the net remuneration. The results of the calculation of the basis are stored in the technical wage type /OZM. The projection is continued in the following two months so that at the start of the maternity protection period, a basic amount exists and can be used to calculate the supplement.

This complies with statutory regulations. The automatically calculated supplement is paid during the maternity protection period using the wage type /5ZM (Automatic maternity pay supplement).

If a calculation model takes future changes into account, the calculation of the basic amount is started automatically and is dependent on the Maternity Pay absence. The wage type is only used when entering a different net amount.

A employee takes maternity protection leave from April 15. She is absent without pay in the three months prior to the maternity protection period. This means that the supplement cannot be calculated automatically. If the employee had been present, she would have received a net remuneration of 3,120 DM per month. If you enter the OZMG wage type in the Additional Payments and Deductions infotype (0015) using the amount 3,120 DM, and the number 30 (=30 days) on April 1, 79 DM will be paid as the maternity pay supplement for each day during the maternity protection period. The amount is calculated by dividing the wage type amount (3,120 DM) by the number of calendar days and then subtracting the per diem sickness pay paid by the health insurance fund (25 DM).

In the standard SAP system, the model wage type OZMG is also used as the default wage type for net remuneration.
