In this step, you can modify an existing wage type model to be used in the calculation of the leave and sick pay supplement, or you can create new models. It is not usually necessary to modify collective agreements included in the standard system.

In payroll accounting, different wage types are required to calculate the leave and sick pay supplements for different collective agreements. The wage types are used, for example, to cumulate calculation bases over several periods, to save fixed supplement rates, or for manual definition of a premium rate.

To define the wage types to be used in a calculation model, the wage types are grouped into a wage type model, and assigned to the calculation model. You should note that not all wage types used in payroll can be defined using a wage type model.

Different wage types within the SAP name range that are used in the supplement calculation also have fixed meanings, and cannot be influenced by the wage type model.

The following wage types can be defined using the wage type model:

  • Cumulation of bonuses in the year
  • Cumulation of bonuses per month
  • Current premium rate
  • Premium rate from previous month
  • Stored definition of supplement rate
  • Cumulation of basic monthly wage in BMTG in year
  • Cumulation of basic monthly wage in BMTG per month
  • Cumulation of paid absences in BMTG in the year
  • Cumulation of paid absences in BMTG per month
  • Calculation of paid absences in BMTG
  • Valuation bases in BMTG
  • Supplement rate from previous year in BAT
  • Cumulation of bonuses in 2nd half year in BAT
  • Manual entry of premium rate

You have already entered your customer wage type for the definition of a manual supplement rate in the step Manual Definition of Wage Types for Leave and Sick PAy Premium.

You have already entered your customer wage type for the definition of a manual supplement rate in the step Manual Definition of Wage Types for Leave and Sick PAy Premium.

Before you can create a new wage type model, you must create any required wage types that are not standard wage types. You do this in the step SAP Standard Wage Types and Payroll Constants.

If you the wage type model uses valuation rules for the average valuation, and you require other average wage types for your new wage type model, you must copy and modify these accordingly in the step Define Average Valuation.

The standard system contains the required wage type models for the collective agreements BAT, BMT-G, MTArb, and AVR Caritas.

To create a wage type model, proceed as follows:

  1. Enter HCM localization 01 for Germany.
You access the selection screen Wage Type Model for Leave and Sickness Supplement.
  1. Select an existing wage type model that corresponds to the collective agreement required for the model.
  2. Choose Copy.
  3. Change the 2-character identifier for the wage type model.
  4. Enter your new cumulation wage types and, if required, your new valuation rules for the wage types used in your collective agreement.
  5. Choose Save.
