SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you determine which wage types are to be split into taxable and tax-exempt portions. This does not apply to the wage types for Sunday bonuses, night bonuses or public holiday bonuses. These are covered in chapter Sunday/Night/Public holiday bonuses.

You can also use activities Determine Additional Outbound Wage Types for Table T512C and Determine Additional Outbound Wage Types for Table T512C (Customer Table) to specify that the tax-exempt or tax-liable proportion should be stored in additional wage types for certain wage types that are to be split.

As an employer, you pay the course fees for health promotion courses your employees attend. These are tax exempt according to Sec. 3 No. 34 EStG for up to EUR 600 per calendar year (as of 2021). The part of the benefit exceeding this tax-exempt amount is taxable.

  • Wage types that are to be separated into tax-exempt and taxable portions must be coded accordingly in processing class 08 of table T512W.

The standard SAP system contains sample entries which you can use as a reference for your own entries.

  1. Check which wage types have a tax-exempt portion.
  2. Code processing class 08 according to the entries in table T512W for the wage types to be split (first view).
  3. Enter the wage types to be split in the following view.
  4. Switch to the detail screen for the wage types to be split.
  5. Determine the type of split.
  6. Define how the tax-exempt amount is to be made known to the system.
  7. Enter the technical wage types in which the tax-exempt and the taxable portion of your wage type is stored.
  8. You can also use activities Determine Additional Outbound Wage Types for Table T512C and Determine Additional Outbound Wage Types for Table T512C (Customer Table) to specify that the tax-exempt or tax-liable proportion should be stored in additional wage types for certain wage types that are to be split.
