In this step you define reduction formulas for wage types entered in the infotypes Basic Pay (0008) and Recurring Payments/ Deductions (0014).

If records in the Basic Pay or Organizational Assignment (0001) infotypes are changed at any point other than at the start of a period, wage types from the Basic Pay infotype are formed for each partial period. For this reason, these wage types must be reduced using partial period factors.

The wage types from infotype 0014 Recurring Payments/Deductions, on the other hand, are only formed once per period. You may therefore only use reduction factors for entire periods with these wage types.

The following formula is used in the SAP standard system when basic
pay wage types are reduced for exact partial periods:

  • Factor =
Planned working time (partial period)
divided by
Monthly working time from personal work schedule

The SAP standard system contains two formulas for the reduction of wage types entered in infotype 0014 Recurring Payments/Deductions.

  • Factor =
Planned working time (entire month)
divided by
Monthly working time from personal work schedule
  • Factor = 0 if there are no paid attendance hours or
Factor = 1 (no reduction) if the payroll period contains at least one paid hour
  1. Check which reduction formulas you require.
  2. Copy standard calculation rule F02A and rename it Z02A.
  3. Copy standard calculation rule F02B and rename it Z02B.
  4. Copy standard calculation rule F02C and rename it Z02C.
  5. Change the reduction formulas in calculation rule Z02C according to your requirements.
  6. Change the calculation rule accessed in rule Z02A from F02B to Z02B.
  7. Change the calculation rule accessed in rule Z02B from F02C to Z02C.
  8. Change the calculation rule accessed in schema FAL0 from F02A to Z02A.
  • If you do not need to make any changes to the standard formulas, you can skip the above activities.
  • For detailed information on the subject of monthly factoring, please see the payroll customizing section of the payroll accounting manual.
