The system provides the following two calculation bases for EOY payments for terminated employees:

  • Statutory calculation base - The system, using payroll calculation rule HKVA, generates this calculation base according to statutory legal requirements. This calculation base is stored in wage type /031.
  • Company-based calculation base - Another payroll calculation rule, HKVF, determines the employee's monthly salary for the period as specified by the calculation base date. You can set this date in a previous step, Define end-of-year (EOY) payment scenarios. This calculation base is stored in wage type /033.

In this step, you check that the calculation bases for the EOY payments are correctly set up during the payroll run.

This step is only relevant if you are using one of the mentioned calculation bases. Otherwise, you can skip this step.

  1. Check that your company uses the abovementioned calculation bases to calculate the employees' EOY payments. If a calculation base is used, check that the respective payroll calculation rule generates the calculation base according to the company's requirement.
  2. If you need to modify a payroll calculation rule, you must:
    1. Copy the rule to the customer name-range, and then modify the customer copy of the rule.
    2. Modify the schema to call the correct payroll calculation rule.
