In this step, you specify the link period (LP) required to link two consecutive absences together.

This is use to valuate an employee's salary compensation during a long leave of absence, usually more than 3 months.

An employee goes on leave for 5 months, comes back to work for 15 days, and then goes on leave for another 2 months. Assume that the LP is set to 20 days.

In this case, the 15 working days after the long leave is less than the LP. Hence, the two absence period is linked together, and the total absence period is taken as 7 months and 15 days.

In the standard system, the LP is set to 0 days. This means that each absence period is valuated seperately.

Check that the LP is appropriate for your company. Change it according to your company's requirement.
