In this step, you use the Employee subgroup grouping for the personnel calculation rule to group employees who are processed together in absence valuation. You then specify which tables the system should access when valuating absences. To do this, call function MOD KMOD GEN in schema KMO0. This function accesses personnel calculation rule KMOD (groupings for Payroll Accounting).

You want the absences of hourly wage earners and salaried employees to be valuated using two different methods. You must therefore define two different regulations in the Valuate absences section: employee grouping for absence valuation 01 for hourly wage earners, and employee grouping for absence valuation 02 for salaried employees.

In this step, you specify under which circumstances the system should access grouping 01 for absence valuation, and when grouping 02 should be used.

In the standard SAP system, modifiers A and 2 are available (MODIF A, MODIF 2). Modifier A controls access to table T554C, Valuate Absences, which you edit in the next step. Modifier 2 controls access to table T510J, Constant Valuations.

MODIF A = 01:
The only entries in the Valuate Absences table (T554C) used in payroll accounting are the entries marked 01 in the AbsValGrpg field (Employee grouping for absence valuation). All other table entries are ignored.

MODIF 2 = 01:
The only entries in the Constant Valuations table (T510J) used in payroll accounting are the entries marked 01 in the MoPayAcct field (modifier for payroll accounting). All other table entries are ignored.

Only make changes here if you want the payroll driver to use other groupings to access tables. To do this, you must make a specification for the grouping in the relevant tables.

  1. Decide which tables you want to access with which groupings. The documentation on operation MODIF contains an overview of the groupings and tables. To display the overview, select the entry MODIF A in the Operation column and press F1.
  2. Copy standard calculation rule KMOD and rename it as ZMOD.
  3. Set the values of modifiers MODIF A and MODIF 2 in calculation rule ZMOD according to the groupings you want to create and the Employee subgroup grouping for the personnel calculation rule.
  4. If you need more groupings for accessing tables, use the format of the standard entries to create more lines.
  5. Change calculation rule access MOD KMOD GEN in schema KMO0 by entering calculation rule ZMOD as the second parameter instead of KMOD.
