In this step, you ensure that any and all wage types used by your enterprise that are subject to provincial health tax in Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, or Newfoundland and Labrador are defined correctly in processing class 65. This processing class determines the manner that wage type amounts accumulate into gross wage types for health tax calculation in Canada.

To ensure that you have correctly defined, within processing class 65, the manner that wage type amounts in your system will accumulate for health tax calculation, proceed as follows.

  1. Execute this step of the Implementation Guide.
  2. On the subsequent screen, find a wage type used by your enterprise that is subject to provincial health tax in Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, or Newfoundland and Labrador.
    1. Highlight the table entry that corresponds to this wage type.
    2. From the application toolbar, select Details.
    3. On the screen thereafter, specify one of the following three values to define the extent to which the wage type is subject to provincial health tax.

Specify 1 if the wage type is subject to health tax in all four provinces (MB, ON, QC and NF).

Specify 2 if the wage type is subject to health tax in Quebec only.

Specify 3 if the wage type is subject to health tax in provinces other than Quebec (MB, ON and NF).
    4. If necessary, delimit the period of time in which this wage type is subject to provincial health tax.
    5. Choose Save.
