OHAQTAX00205 - Define Tax on Lump-Sum Amounts
General Data in Customer Master TXBHW - Original Tax Base Amount in Local CurrencyThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
Lump-sum payments, such as redundancy payments, pay in lieu of notice and outstanding leave entitlements on termination, are subject to different tax percentages that are set by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
In the SAP System, every effort is made to guarantee the legal compliance of the tax percentages applied to lump-sum payments. However, as the laws affecting taxation change, you must verify and ensure compliance by checking, and if necessary changing, the tax percentages.
In the redesigned tax solution, the tax percentages for calculating tax on lump-sum payments are maintained in the system table V_T5QT1 (see Overview of Redesigned Solution). If you are using the redesigned solution, you can ignore the information below.
In this Customizing activity, you check that the tax percentages in the standard system comply with the percentages currently stipulated by the ATO.
The tax percentages should only be changed if the legislation changes.
The standard system contains the tax percentages currently applied to lump-sum payments by the ATO. The percentages are set in the following constants:
- LMPAT - Tax on lump-sum A payments
- LMPB5 - Percentage of lump-sum B payments to be taxed
- LMPBT - Tax on lump-sum B payments
- Check that the tax percentages entered against each constant reflect the current percentages set by the ATO.
- If necessary, change the lump-sum tax values as follows:
- Flag the appropriate entry (for example, LMPAT).
- Choose Edit -> Define validity.
- Enter the date you want the new percentage to be valid from.
- Enter the new percentage.
