OHAQTAX004 - Maintain Medicare Levies

In this step, you maintain the Medicare levy amounts, thresholds and coefficients used to calculate Medicare levy offsets. These Medicare levy settings are defined and modified by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

In the standard system, Medicare levy parameters have been entered against tax scales 2, 6 and 7.

Only modify the Medicare levy settings if the ATO changes the tax offset amounts or thresholds.

To change the Medicare levy settings, you:

1. Flag the tax scale you want to change and choose Edit -> Copy as.
2. Enter the relevant Medicare levy amounts, thresholds and coefficients as well as the validity period.

Make your changes in all clients as the table is client-dependent.
