In this step, you set up the Eligible Termination Payment (ETP) parameters used by the Terminations/Redundancies program to process ETPs. To do this, you edit the Redundancies/terminations feature (13ETP) as follows in the bulleted list:

Before you can set up the ETP parameters, you must customize the system to determine the employee's entry date to the company on the basis of which years of service is calculated. To do this, go to SAP Reference IMG -> Personnel Management -> Personnel Administration -> Payroll Data -> Seniority -> Determine Entry Date.

  • Specify whether the employee records stored in the Other/Previous Employers infotype (0023) are to be used to calculate an employee's total length of service. To do this, you either enter blank to indicate that infotype (0023) is not to be used, or X to indicate that the infotype is to be used.
Note
If you configure the feature to include records stored in infotype 0023 in length of service calculations (that is, you enter X in the feature), the Terminations/Redundancies program will process all the records stored in the infotype for all the employees whose attributes match the areas and groupings set up in the feature.
If you discover that an employee has an infotype 0023 record relating to previous employment with a company other than your own, and you want to exclude the record from length of service calculations for the employee, you must not maintain any records in infotype 0023 for that employee.
  • Specify whether the length of service includes the notice period, that is, whether the length of service must be calculated to the lieu of notice date. To do this, you either enter blank to indicate that the length of service must only be calculated to the termination date, or you enter X to indicate that the length of service must be calculated to the lieu of notice date. If this flag is checked, all termination specific tables would be read with end date as notice date. Also, quota would be projected till the notice date if this flag is checked.
  • Based on the data stored in the Actions infotype (0000), enter the action number that the lieu of notice date must be written to.
  • Enter the subtype the Addresses infotype (0006) that the employee's address is to be held against. This is used for display in the ETP rollover form.
  • Enter the subtype in the Addresses infotype (0006) that the authorised agent is to be held against. This is used for display in the ETP rollover form.

The ETP parameters have a maximum of 08 characters.

To set up the Redundancies/terminations feature, you:

  1. Enter the relevant country grouping (for example, 13 for Australia).
  2. Enter the employee subgroup (for example, Q1).
  3. Enter an ETP variable (for example, &13ETP).
  4. Enter the relevant parameters (for example, &13ETP=XX30050607Q1).

The Terminations/Redundancies program reads the string set up in the feature and sorts the data according to the parameters you have defined (for example, country grouping, employee grouping and employee subgroup).

The feature can be set up to identify different employee groupings depending on your company structure. To access the variables used in the feature, choose Goto -> Structure.
