SAP E-Book

In this IMG activity, you store the privileges and other deductions that apply to a particular tax class.

If you use Concurrent Employment, use the Customizing activity Maintain Tax Privileges (Concurrent Employment) instead of this Customizing activity.

This IMG activity is divided into the following parts:

  • On the overview screen, you enter basic data about tax privileges and other deductions.
  • On the details screen, you enter data about each of the tax privileges entered on the overview screen.
Based on the data you enter for a given tax privilege, the rule T7RUT3-CYCLE processes the tax privileges, how they are applied, and checks them against any additional conditions.

In this IMG activity, you enter privileges that belong to the same abstract group. For example, all privileges that relate to tax deduction P.218 or to child privileges. Based on the personal data of a given employee, you assign only one of the privileges from a particular group to an employee. A variable in the payroll rule RU-1 checks that you assign the correct privilege to a particular employee.

The standard system contains the most commonly used tax privileges.

  1. On the overview screen, you enter the tax privileges that you need to process for your employees.
  2. To make settings related to how each of the tax privileges are calculated, select one of the tax privileges and choose Goto -> Details.
In the header area of the details screen, you can enter a tax class. The tax classes you enter form the input help in the Tax Privileges infotype (0299).
  3. In the Wage Type group box, you enter the wage type that stores the amount of the tax privilege. This is a formed wage type that the function RUTAX uses to process the calculation rules.
  4. You use one of the three fields in the Value of Tax Privilege group box to determine the actual value of the tax privilege.
  5. You can restrict the level of a particular tax privilege by entering either the number of MROT or an amount in the Limits on Privilege group box.
Note If you do not enter a value in the Limits on Privilege group box, the value of the tax privilege is unlimited.
  6. In the Method group box, you determine the calculation method (for example, annual or monthly) that is used as part of the payroll rules during the payroll run.
  7. In the Processing Rules group box, you enter the rule and parameters that the function RUTAX calls to calculate each tax privilege.
The rule you enter determines the value of the tax privilege that you process in this IMG activity.
The rule uses the tax base from the variable RUTx to form the value of the privilege and reduce the variable RUTy by the value of the privilege.
