In this Customizing activity, you make settings to influence the way in which the system reacts when you enter periods of sickness in the Absences (2001) infotype.

The settings apply to periods of sickness that you enter for each personnel assignment that an employee has.

Enter parameter values for the following parameters as required:

Parameter Meaning Parameter Values
ILL_DATE_MSG Determines the type of message that appears when you enter sick leave, but there is already an absence of exactly the same type, but for a period that overlaps with (and is not identical to) the current absence period for one of the employee’s other personnel assignments. For example, assume an employee has two personnel assignments, 1 and 2. You want to enter sick leave (subtype 0200 in the Absences (2001) infotype) from June 20 to June 25 for personnel assignment 1. However, since the same type of sick leave (subtype 0200) already exists from June 23 to June 25 for personnel assignment 2, the system displays the message that you customize with this parameter. Note: If you entered sick leave (subtype 0200) for personnel assignment1 from June 23 to June 25, no message would appear. E (error), W (warning), or I (information). If you do not enter the parameter, or you enter the parameter without a value, the system uses the message type E.

ILL_TYPE_MSG Determines the type of message that appears when you enter sick leave that clashes with an existing period of sick leave. This conflict results from an existing absence for a different type of sick leave in an identical or overlapping period for one of the employee's other personnel assignments. For example, assume an employee has two personnel assignments, 1 and 2. You want to enter sick leave (subtype 0200 in the Absences (2001) infotype) from April 10 to April 13 for personnel assignment 1. However, since a period of absence for a work accident (subtype 0205) already exists from April 11 to April 15 for personnel assignment 2, the system displays the message that you customize with this parameter. For more information about the possible types of sick leave, see the Customizing activity Define Absence Types for Sickness. E (error), W (warning), or I (information) . If you do not enter the parameter, or you enter the parameter without a value, the system uses the message type E.

ILL_DATE_OPEN Allows you to edit the start and end dates of absences when you copy an absence record to other personnel assignments X (allows you to edit the fields). If you do not enter the parameter, or you enter the parameter witout a parameter value, you can not edit the fields.
ILL_TYPE_OPEN Allows you to edit the Absence Type field when you copy an absence record to other personnel assignments of an employee X (allows you to edit the absence type). If you do not enter the parameter, or you enter the parameter without a value, you can not edit the absence type.
ILL_NUM_OPEN Allows you to edit fields that contain the series and number of sickness certificates when you copy an absence record to other personnel assignments of an employee X (allows you to edit the fields). If you do not enter the parameter, or you enter the parameter without a value, you can not edit the fields.
