SAP E-Book

The SAP system uses the interest calculation method 30/360 for company loans. This method assumes that there are 30 interest days for every month and 360 interest days for the annual interest basis.

According to Russian legislation, if the start or end date of the loan falls in the middle of a period, you calculate the loan period using the interest calculation method act/365. This means the actual number of days in the period divided by 365 days in one year.
To change the interest calculation method, function module PY33_WRITE_INTEREST_DAYS checks when the loan period starts and changes the interest calculation method based on the start date of the loan period.

If you need a different interest calculation method for your company, you can specify a different interest calculation method in this IMG activity (feature INTLO (HR Loans: Interest Calculation Method).

In the feature, you can specify that the interest calculation method applies to the following loans:

  • Applies to all loans in your system

Establish the number of interest days in your enterprise on which the interest calculation for company loans is based.

In your enterprise, you use the interest calculation method act/acty (daily interest calculation for month and year) for all loans of the loan type personal loan with installment repayment.

You create a node for the loan type 9234 with the return value 6 (act/acty) for your HCM localization.

As an alternative to changing the interest calculation method using the INTLO feature, you can also assign an individual loan condition it's own interest calculation method, in the IMG activity Maintain Loan Types. However, we recommend that you make the settings for the interest calculation method using the feature as it is much clearer.
