OHARU_PS002 - Set Up Ranks

In this Customizing activity, you make the necessary settings for the Ranks (3382)infotype.
Perform the following steps:
1. To specify service areas, enter the following data:
- Identifier that stands for an established service area
- Service area name
- Validity period
2. To specify rank groups for service areas, enter the following data:
- Identifier of the service area for which you want to adjust rank groups
- Group identifier
- Group name
- Validity period
3. To specify ranks, enter the following data:
- Identifier of the service area
- Identifier of the rank group
- Identifier of a rank
- Class rank identifier
- Rank name
- Validity period
Assume that Ivan Ivanov starts his career in the military service area. The following example shows which settings you make to create a rank for him in the Ranks (3382) infotype.
1. Specify Service Area
Enter the following data:

2. Specify Rank Group
On the popup screen, enter 0003in the Service Area fieldto specify that you want to set up rank groups for the military service area. Then enter the following data:

| 0003 | 01.01.1800 | 31.12.9999 | Junior |
3. Specify Rank
On the popup screen, enter 0003in the Service Area field, and enter 0003 in the Rank Group field to specify that Ivan belongs to the group of junior officers. Then enter the following data:

| 0004 | 01.01.1800 | 31.12.9999 | Junior Lieutenant |
As a result of this setup, you can select these values in the fields of the Ranks (3382)infotype.
