In this Customizing activity, you define the cut-off day for absence valuation.

You can enter a number from 1 to 28, which represents a day of a month. If you enter 0, the cut-off processing for absence is deactivated.

During a regular payroll run, the system valuates absences in the period from the cut-off day in the previous payroll period up to one day before the cut-off day in the current payroll period.

In your company, the payroll period is the same as the calendar month, and you define the cut-off day for absence as 20.

An employee has an absence record as follows:

Start Date: June 15, 2008

End Date: July 23, 2008

Then the system valuates the absence in the following payroll periods:

Payroll Period   Absence Period
20080601-20080630   20080615-20080619
20080701-20080731   20080620-20080719
20080801-20080831   20080720-20080723
