In this step, you convert deduction wage types that you maintained at Release 3.1I, 4.0A, 4.0B, or 4.5A. If you have not used deductions/balance functionality in a release prior to 4.5B, then skip this step and proceed to the next one.

Up to and including Release 4.5A, processing class 66 was used for the purpose of processing deductions. From Release 4.5B forward, processing class 66 is no longer be used for this purpose. Instead, processing class 50 is used.

To reflect this change, personnel calculation rule UDPT in subschemas UMC0 and UDP0 has replaced international payroll calculation rule XDPT. This rule checks the values assigned to wage types in processing class 50. The manner in which this rule is called in subschemas UMC0 and UDP0 has been changed accordingly.

Therefore, in this step you must convert the values assigned to deduction and balance wage types in processing class 66 in an earlier release to values in processing class 50. The values in processing class 66 for the deductions wage types must then be erased. To this end, you must execute conversion program RPUDEDUC.

Prerequisites

  • You have used deductions/balance functionality at Release 4.5A or below.
  • Your deduction wage types are already maintained in processing class 66.

Activities

  1. Execute this IMG step. On the subsequent screen, choose the first activity to run conversion program RPUDEDUC, which converts processing class 66 values to equivalent values in processing class 50.

Note: Be certain to run this conversion program for country grouping 10.
When the program has finished its run, review the conversion log.
  1. Execute the second step of this activity to update subschema UDP0 (or your customer-specific equivalent) and to check the call of rules XDPM, XDPI, XDPR and UDPT therein. If you use customer-specific copies of these rules, adjust the call of your rules in schema UDP0 and the decisions performed within the rules themselves to reflect the changes made during the conversion from processing class 66 to processing class 50.
When finished, generate subschema UDP0 (or your customer-specific equivalent).
  1. Execute the third step of this activity to update subschema UMC0 (or your customer-specific equivalent) and to check the call of rules XDPM, XDPI, XDPR and UDPT therein. If you use customer-specific copies of these rules, adjust the call of your rules in schema UMC0 and the decisions performed within the rules themselves to reflect the changes made during the conversion from processing class 66 to processing class 50.
When finished, generate subschema UMC0 (or your customer-specific equivalent).
  1. Proceed to the next step of the Implementation Guide.
