In this Customizing activity, you determine whether the system splits the payroll period on the start date of a personnel action.

The system splits the payroll period to meet legal requirements in the Ukraine by evaluating the payroll period in line with an employee’s period of employment in your company.

You have turned on the Redesigned Payroll Schema (SCHEM) configuration option in the Customizing activity Configure Calculation Methods.

In the standard system, the Ukraine-specific personnel action for rehiring employees, UR, causes the system to split the payroll period.

For each personnel action or combination of a personnel action and a reason for a personnel action, specify whether you want the system to split the payroll period on the date of the personnel action.

Assume an employee leaves your company on March 15 and you rehire the employee on March 18.

If the employee is sick from March 25 through March 30, Ukrainian legislation stipulates that you calculate an employee’s sick pay based only on the employee’s period of employment from March 18. To evaluate only the employee’s latest period of employment in your company, the system splits the payroll period on the date when you rehire the employee by executing the personnel action for rehiring employees.
