In Ukraine, the amount of absence pay that employees can receive is limited by legislation. The Ukrainian government publishes a base amount that you use to determine the maximum absence pay. The maximum rate for absence pay that you calculate is based on a daily or hourly rate, depending on the way in which you pay your employees.

In this Customizing activity, you enter the legally defined monthly base amount that the government publishes. To determine the maximum rate for absence pay that employees can receive, the system limits the base amount for calculating social insurance payments to the amount that you enter in this Customizing activity.

When the system calculates an employee’s absence pay, it carries out the following steps:

  1. The Limit Average Bases for Sickness Certificate Payments (UA4B) personnel calculation schema stores the base amount on which social insurance payments are to be calculated for each month in the evaluation period for the absence in question. For example, in the case of sickness, the evaluation period is 6 months.
    The base amount for calculating absence pay is an employee’s salary, but only up to the level of the maximum base amount that you enter in this Customizing activity.
  2. The Calculation of Averages – Ukraine (UAAVE) function determines the average daily rate for the entire evaluation period.
    To do this, the system divides the sum of the base amounts that it stores for each month in the evaluation period by the total number of days (actual working days for sickness, calendar days for maternity leave) in the evaluation period.
  3. The End Processing of Averages – Ukraine (UAAM) personnel calculation rule limits the rate for absence pay by comparing the average rate for the entire evaluation period with the rate that the Calculation of Averages – Ukraine (UAAVE) function calculates for the last month in the evaluation period.
