In this Customizing activity, you configure the calculation rules that you want the system to use when it determines an employee's average pay. For more information about how the system uses the calculation

You use the calculation rules in this Customizing activity for the following purposes:

• To calculate an employee's average absence pay when you do not have the required data about an employee's pay from previous payroll periods or from the current payroll period
  If an employee's pay data from the current payroll period or from a previous payroll period does not exist, the Calculation of Averages for Ukraine (UAAVE) function reads the wage type that you specify for a particular average calculation rule in this Customizing activity. The function uses the rate in the wage type in the Input (IT) table.

• To extend an employee's average pay for the duration of a particular event, for example, for a temporary reassignment

For the average calculation rules that you use in your company, specify the following data:

Purpose of Average Calculation Rule	Data
Average calculation rules for regular absences	Determine which periods you want the system to use to calculate an employee's average pay when the required payroll data from previous payroll periods does not exist, or when the average calculation from the current payroll period is zero (0).
Average calculation rules for the duration of an event, for example, an employee's temporary reassignment to a different position	Determine whether you want the system to read the data in the Basic Pay (0008) or Recurring Payments/Deductions (0014) infotype to freeze the average rate that the system calculates at the start of a particular event for the duration of that event.
