SAP E-Book

The standard system performs an adjustment for an employee when you know the gross adjustment and the employee taxes, but you want the system to calculate the employer taxes and taxable wages (technical wage types).

You run a negative gross-up non-authorized manual check (NAMC) of Payroll Results Adjustment(0221) infotype. This NAMC adjustment is ADJT or YANA (without tax calculation). In the standard system, the calculated tax returned from BSI TaxFactory is not stored, but it is storing the gross-up gross amount. Such behavior may create inconsistent results.

Therefore, if you want to disable the storage of the gross-up amount, execute this Customizing activity and modify the configuration option GUPTX according to the needs of your company.

Note:

This setting is only valid for NAMCadjustment, types YAWAor ADJT. Gross-up amounts returned from BSI will be taken into account for all the other types of payroll execution.

Execute this Customizing activity and define the value of the GUPTXconfiguration option by making the corresponding entry in table view Customer Values for Configuration Options (V_T5F99K2) according to the needs of your company. The possible values are as follows:

  • 'On': Disables the storage of the gross-up gross amount returned from BSI TaxFactory
  • 'Off': Enables the storage of the gross-up gross amount returned from BSI TaxFactory

Note

In the standard system, this entry does not exist in table view V_T5F99K2, therefore, you must create it. When the entry does not exist, the system behavior is the same as the value 'On' described above.

Consider the example below:

WITH SWITCH ON:

You want to do a negative gross-up adjustment of -300.00 for a given employee. In the Payroll Results Adjustment(0221) infotype, you enter wage types for the gross-up net amount of -300, the tax and taxable amounts for employee and employer taxes, and the total of the employee taxes (that is, -159.00). Since the tax calculation is done manually when you enter those wage types in infotype 0221, an adjustment without tax calculation can be executed (ADJT or YANA). However, in the system as currently delivered, the SAP Payroll is not storing the gross-up gross amount returned from BSI TaxFactory, which for this example will be -159.00, resulting in a gross-up net amount of -300.00, instead of the amount of -459.00.

To store the gross-up gross amount returned from BSI TaxFactory, you can execute this activity and set the configuration option GUPTXto 'Off'.

WITH SWITCH OFF

You want to do a negative gross-up adjustment of -300.00 for a given employee. In the Payroll Results Adjustment(0221) infotype, you enter wage types for the gross-up net amount of -300, the tax and taxable amounts for employee and employer taxes, and the total of the employee taxes (that is, -159.00). Since the tax calculation is done manually when you enter those wage types in infotype 0221, an adjustment without tax calculation can be executed (ADJT or YANA). SAP Payroll stores the gross-up gross amount returned from BSI TaxFactory, which for this example will be -159.00, resulting in a gross-up net amount of -459.00, instead of the amount of -300.00.
