In this Customizing activity, you define if you want the system to not change the reportable and taxable wages amounts when BSI TaxFactory calculates taxes for exempt employees. When this option is not active, the system sets the taxable and reportable wages to zero, based on the exempt indicator (Y, X) chosen on the Tax Exempt Indicator field of the Withholding Info W4/W5 US (IT0210) infotype. This is done even when BSI TaxFactory calculates taxes for the exempt employee after determining he or she is not in fact exempt based on legal regulations.

If you activate this activity and BSI TaxFactory calculates taxes for exempt employees, the system uses the taxable and reportable wages determined by BSI TaxFactory instead of setting them to zero.

In the standard system, the Taxable and Reportable Wages Exempt EE option is set with value '0'by default.

Execute this Customizing activity and define the value of the TAX04 configuration option by making the corresponding entry in table view Customer Values for Configuration Options(V_T5F99K2) according to the needs of your company. The possible values are as follows:

  • '0' Always set to zero(default option): This option will always set the taxable and reportable wages to zero, according to the exempt indicator (Y, X) chosen on the Tax Exempt Indicator field of the Withholding Info W4/W5 US (IT0210) infotype.

  • '1' Set to zero based on BSI calculation: This option will not change the reportable and taxable wages amounts if BSI TaxFactory calculates taxes. If BSI TaxFactory does not calculate taxes, the system behaves as described in option '0'.

Note

In the standard system, this entry does not exist in table view V_T5F99K2, therefore, you must create it. When the entry does not exist, the system behavior is the same as the value '0' described above.
