You can assign the specification 'Additional tax' to wage types through processing class 68 (Additional tax (SA)). This indicates to the system, that the employee wants to pay an additional voluntary tax above his or her normal tax rate.

An employee may elect to have additional tax deducted from his or her salary, to reduce the amount of tax to be paid to the Receiver of Revenue at the end of the tax year.

  1. You must first create a 'user' wage type for additional tax.
See 'Create wage types for cost accounting' if you need to create a new wage type. (This wage type is used in conjunction with a 'technical' wage type for payroll calculations).
  2. Assign the wage type, as you created in the previous step, to infotypes Recurring Payments and Deductions (0014) and Additional Payments (0015).
  3. Open the employee's master data in either Infotype 14 or 15 and choose your additional tax wage type. Enter the amount of the additional tax in the space provided.
  1. Open the 'Additional tax' table from the IMG.
  2. Choose 'Details'.
  3. Choose 'Next entry' to scroll through the wage types and select your additional tax wage type.
  4. Select the specifications for processing class 68.
  • Choose specification 1 to assign the additional tax indicator to your wage type.
  • Choose 0 if this specification does not apply to the wage type.
  1. Save the entry.

By assigning the additional tax wage type to processing class 68, the system processes the wage type as follows: The amount of the 'user' wage type is added to the amount of the 'technical' wage type /403 (Additional Tax) by the rule WT68. Additional system processing stores the information in the 'technical' wage type /407 (Annual Tax Refund) and the payroll is processed. This is calculated at the end of the tax year and the additional tax amount is printed on the IRP5 tax form in the PAYE block.

You must customize your system to process the information from your 'user' wage type so that it is removed from the Input Table (IT). You could, for example, customize your system so that the information in the IT gets passed to a Result Table (RT). Such customization would allow you to print the additional tax amount onto your pay slips.
