SAP E-Book

In this IMG activity you determine how time types and processing types are assigned to individual time pairs on the basis of their time identifier.

The time identifier describes the semantic meaning of time intervals in the daily work schedule : overtime, fill time, core time, fill time break, core time break.

To employee on off-site work out of the time specified in the daily work schedule (overtime) you must assign the time identifier overtime to the corresponding time pair.

The standard SAP system contains the common assignment of time identifiers to processing types. These are the time type determination groups:

  • 01: ,, Process in PDC time recording

  • 02: ,, Process for time wage type selection in payroll.

Only change the entries if you want to assign time identifiers to processing types when these identifiers differ from the SAP standard system. Please note that you should make these entries under a new time type determination group. To create the time determination group you enter it in the GRP field. You must then specify the respective time type determination group in time evaluation.
You find further information in the IMG activity Set groupings.

  1. Enter a new time type determination group in the GRP field for a new assignment of time identifiers to processing types.
  2. Specify which personnel subarea groupings for time recording the new assignment should apply to.
  3. Specify how the time pairs should be processed, according to their determinated time identifier. The processing types are as follows:
  • S : The pair is valuated as a planned working pair

  • M : The pair is valuated as an overtime pair; the time is not
counted as daily planned working time

Note that any entries you make in the SAP name range may run the risk to be overwritten by a release upgrade.

You only have to make entries in the "time type" field if you want the time data to be valuated (see Time evaluation).
