With this feature (16UPD), you assign default settings which make three decisions (with the syntax being X-X-X (where decisions are made on the first, third, and fifth position). The decisions are as follows:

  1. Regarding the direct update/workflow of the package
  • Assigning an Xindicates that infotypes are directly updated from the ESS scenario (without the employee going through the workflow process of managerial approval of the salary package).

  • No entry in this position (blank) indicates that packages (infotypes) are updated upon workflow approval.

  1. General permission regarding package request
  • Assigning an Xindicates that employee do not have permission to update their package. Note: This is used throughout the year to ensure that when an employee looks at their package and test various packages, that no update occurs.

  • No entry in this position (blank) indicates that the employee is permitted to update their package.

  1. Indicates whether or not repeated requests are allowed
  • Assigning an Xindicates that only one update is allowed. This means that the employee is not allowed to request another package if one has already been approved or directly updated.

  • No entry in this position (blank) indicates that there is no limit to the amount of times an employee can request a package.

Based on the description of the three decisions as described above, assign an X or a blank to each position of the feature accordingly.

Example: The syntax X- -X indicates that:

  • Direct update is permitted.
  • At this time, the employee can update their package.
  • Only one package can be submitted for approval.
