OHBEN1194 - Determine Health FSA Carryover Limit

In this Customizing activity you determine the limit of the balance carried over from the previous plan year to the current plan year.

Some Health Care FSA plans allow employees to reimburse eligible medical expenses from unused amounts from the previous plan year. The balance carried over from the previous plan year to the current plan year is called "carryover".

This amount is added to the current year deduction limit so the employee can request reimbursements of the total amount of carried over plus the current year's balance.

Note

If an employee has more than one Health Care FSA plan, the total carryover cannot exceed this limit.

To indicate that a plan allows carryover, in Customizing activity Assign Spending Account Attributes, you select the Allow Carryover (BEN_CAROV) checkbox.

SAP delivers the Health FSA carry-over limit (HCFCO) constant with the maximumcarryover limit defined by law.

You can change the HCFCO constant by executing this activity and entering a lower amount.

You must not enter a higher amount than the limit defined by law. If you do so, when you run payroll for the employee, the system will return an error message in the payroll log.
