OHBEN6120 - Define Points

In this step, you define the retirement benefit points. The retirement benefit point represents retirement benefit resources that are assigned to the employees when they meet specific requirements.

The system uses the points you define in this IMG activity as the subtypes in the Ret. Benefit Point System Mgmt JP infotype (0890).

• You have defined the calculation process in Define Calculation Process.

• You have defined the retirement benefit point types in Define Point Types.

This IMG activity is the basis for all the configurations of retirement benefit point system.

You can only define a benefit point as one benefit point type.

The calculation process is required only when the benefit point type is Seniority.

The points assigned to an employee are valid for a period. If an employee's status changes within that period, the Adjustment indicator enables you to make relevant adjustment (supplement or deduction) based on changes in the employee's status. So the total points assigned to the employee reflect the actual employee status.
