In this IMG activity, you define how the system determines the re-assessment rate for each combination of a calculation group and a cash balance plan.

You complete this definition by the following steps:

  1. Assign the decision factors that are used for the re-assessment rate, and to decide the key date when to retrieve the decision factors
Note:
You can only assign a maximum of two decision factors for each combination of a calculation group and a cash balance plan. If sub-plans exist, this step is on sub-plan level.
  1. Determine the value or status of each decision factor and the corresponding reassessment rate when employee's data meets the requirements.

For each combination of a contribution calculation group and a plan, the reassessment rate is represented in formulas by the parameter REASSRATE in formula.

Refer to the sample entries to help you to define the re-assessment rate.

In your company, for employees working in Tokyo, age and eligibility status are used as re-assessment rate decision factors.

In step 1, you make the decision factor assignments as follows:

Plan Sub-plan Calculation Group Decision Factor 1 Decision Factor 2
005 Contract-type DB Plan 002 Tokyo Age Eligibility Status

In step 2, you make the detailed definition as follows:

Decision Factor 1 Decision Factor 2 Start Date End Date Rate
25 years (old) Eligible 1/1/2000 31/12/2003 3
25 years (old) Eligible 1/1/2004 31/12/9999 0
60 years (old) Eligible 1/1/2001 31/12/2008 5
60 years (old) Eligible 1/1/2009 31/12/9999 0

Three employees, A, B, and C, participate in this plan, who are 22, 46 and 62 respectively on June 31, 2002. According to the settings above, the re-assessment rates for them are:

Employee Age Rate
A 22 0
B 46 3
C 62 5
