In this step, you can

  1. Generate your own wage types for Benefits Request Systems by copying the model wage type group BPS.
When you create the wage type catalog, you can only use the name range reserved for your customer wage types (wage types that begin with a number). Do not copy wage types to the area reserved for SAP model wage types (those that begin with a letter or a symbol).
The copies of model wage types have the same characteristics with the model wage types considering processing in dialog as well as in payroll calculation. You can check and change the characteristics of your wage types in the subsequent implementation steps if necessary.
  1. Assign the following wage types to different request types:
  • Calculation base wage type
When the benefit request type limit rule variant is relevant with salary grouping, you need to assign the calculation base wage type in order to differentiate the salary groups. Employees belong to different salary groups may have different limits for request type:
  • Maximum number of request

  • Maximum number of points that can be deducted

  • Maximum amount that can be reimbursed

To get more information, refer to the implementation step Define Benefit Request Type Limit Rule.
  • Reimbursement amount wage type
This payroll relevant wage type stores the amount to be reimbursed for a particular request.
  • Deduction amount wage type
This payroll relevant wage type stores the amount that comes from converting the excess points into amount when the employee needs to pay those excess points, which finally is deducted in payroll calculation.
  • Difference amount wage type
This payroll relevant wage type stores the difference amount between reimbursement amount and deduction amount.

As you have assigned attributes which are time-dependent to each request type, when a request type has different time records, you should assign the wage type groups to different time records. The wage types in different time records can be the same or not.

You must have assigned attributes for benefit request type in the previous implementation step.
